SSC CHSL 2018: important tips and syllabus in detail
Dear students, SSC has announced to conduct CHSL exam for 3259 Posts(For more information click here).SSC CHSL is Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination. It is held every year for various posts such as Lower Divisional Clerk(LDC), Data Entry Operator(DEO), Postal or Sorting Assistant(PA/SA) etc. So we can say that clerical positions are filled through SSC CHSL. The minimum qualification is 10+2 for SSC CHSL 2018 and candidates are selected based on Computer-Based Test, Descriptive Test and Interview.
SSC CHSL 2018 syllabus:-
A. English Language: (25 Questions)
Error Detection, One-word substitution, Sentence Improvement, Fill in the Blanks, Synonyms/Antonyms, Detecting Misspelt words, Idioms & Phrases, Active/ Passive Voice, Direct/Indirect, Shuffling of Sentence parts, Rearrangement of Sentences in a passage, Comprehension Passage, Cloze Test.
B. Quantitative Aptitude: 25 questions from the following topics:-
Arithmetic: Ratio and Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest (Simple and Compound), Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Allegation, Time and distance, work and Time. Percentages, Basic algebraic questions
Geometry: Triangle and its centre related questions, Circle and its chords, common tangents to two or more circles. angles subtended by chords of a circle.
Trigonometry: Trigonometry, Trigonometric ratios, simple questions on Height and distances.
Mensuration: Sphere, Hemispheres, Triangle, Regular Polygons, Circle, Right Prism, Right Circular Cone, Right Circular Cylinder, Regular Right Pyramid with triangular, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Quadrilaterals,
Statistical charts: Pie-chart, Histogram, Bar-diagram, Frequency polygon.
C. General Intelligence(Reasoning):- It includes both verbal and non-verbal Reasoning.(25 questions)
Semantic Analogy, Figural Analogy, Symbolic Analogy, Number Analogy Trends, Space Orientation ,Semantic Classification, Symbolic operations, Venn Diagrams, Symbolic/Number Classification, Figural Classification, Figural Series, Punched hole/pattern-folding & unfolding , Semantic Series, Coding and decoding, Figural Pattern – folding and completion, Number Series, Embedded figures, Problem Solving, Emotional Intelligence, Word Building, Social Intelligence, etc.
D. General Awareness:(25 Questions)
The test includes questions relating to India (Indian Constitution, Budget and Five Year Plans., Economy, Geography of India, Indian History and culture) Neighbouring countries Culture, Geography, General policy and scientific research. General Politics, Economy, Banking and Finance, Countries & Capitals. Sports. Knowledge of Current Events. Science – Inventions & Discoveries.
